Boot size, boot shape, riding style and flex preference all matter. A softer binding can feel more forgiving and playful. A stiffer binding can add support and quicker response. The right binding should make sense with the snowboard, snowboard boots and rider together.
Still an excellent choice for riders who prioritize simplicity, low weight, value or a very specific binding feel.
Faster entry with the familiar feel of a strapped binding, while still working with regular snowboard boots.
Automatic rear entry for quick step-in convenience while remaining compatible with regular snowboard boots.
FASE and Nidecker Supermatic give riders faster entry and exit while working with regular snowboard boots. That means you can choose the boot that fits your foot best instead of choosing a boot because your binding system requires it.
FASE is built for riders who like the feel and adjustability of a traditional binding but want to spend less time getting in and out.
It uses an automatic highback and straps designed to stay ready for entry, while still working with standard snowboard boots.
FASE isn't tied to one binding model. At Sun & Snow, you'll see FASE options from Rome and ThirtyTwo, giving riders choices in flex, feel and price while keeping regular boot compatibility.
Nidecker Supermatic takes a different approach. Slide your boot in, press down with your heel and the binding engages automatically, while the straps remain part of the system for familiar adjustment and support.
There isn't one binding system that's best for everyone. Fast-entry technology is exciting, but traditional two-strap bindings still make a lot of sense for plenty of riders.
Still an excellent choice if you care most about simplicity, low weight, value or a very specific binding feel.
Traditional bindings also give riders the widest range of flexes, shapes and performance options. If you already strap in quickly and don't care much about faster entry, there may be no reason to change.
Best for riders who want easier entry while keeping a familiar two-strap feel and regular snowboard boot compatibility.
It's a strong middle ground between a conventional binding and a more automatic system.
Best for riders who put a high value on quick, automatic entry while still wanting to use regular snowboard boots.
The tradeoff is a more complex and generally heavier binding than a simple traditional setup.
Bindings work best when the rest of the setup makes sense with them. If you're still choosing the rest of your gear, start with the pieces that matter most.
Fit comes first. We help match boot shape, volume and support to your feet and riding style.
